I decided to start a section in our blog wherein we can document some of the funny sights we encounter on a daily basis. These things struck us as so unusual--perhaps laughable--and yet they are completely routine here. Here are two photos to start us off; the first is a pack of squid for sale in the supermarket. They looked like cartoon characters to me; maybe little cute guys from Finding Nemo or Spongebob. But alas, they`re vacuum-sealed and ready to be fried up for dinner...or perhaps eaten raw, as it were. The second photo is of a minivan we passed on our way downtown the other day. Please notice the impressive--surgical, I might say--park job. WHAT?! Aso, that was achieved by
backing into the parking space. They`re so tight on space over here, they really get creative with their use of it. Wow.
I`ll add more photos as the adventures continue. (Wish I would have captured a shot of the rodent-sized beetles that were for sale in the department store the other day...)
